Research

Muscle atrophy can be induced by response to various insults, which might include prolonged disuse, ageing and chronic disease such as Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). Furthermore, muscle atrophy is the consequence of a negative balance between the rate of contractile protein synthesis and degradation. Through our research work, we would try to reverse the muscle atrophy occurring in type 2 diabetes by mobilizing intrinsic stem cells using bioactive lipids.
