Santosh Kumar Behera obtained his M.Sc. in Bioinformatics from Pondicherry University, India. During the Master’s he has trained in the area of structural biology, sequence analysis, systems biology, molecular modeling and drug designing using computational approaches. Apart from these, he also equipped with scripting languages such as C, C++, Perl and R programming languages. As part of his master’s dissertation, he worked on a project entitled “In silico design of A2A adenosine receptor ligand using fragment-based drug design”. He has qualified the Bioinformatics National Certification and is funded by the BINC Junior Research Fellowship from DBT, Government of India. Currently, he is involved in analysis of genomics, proteomics and metabolomics data.

Research Interest/Area

Bioinformatics, Metabolomics, Genomics, Proteomics, Big data analysis

Research

His current research involves development of database for the compound identification from metabolomics data. This involves listing compounds from different public resources and thereby creating a database for annotation of compounds. He is also interested in developing algorithms for the analysis of metabolomics data.
